3 More Microconferences Added for 2013

The planning committee has just approved three more microconferences for this year’s conference: File Systems & Storage, ACPI/PM & PCI subsystems, and LLVM. Details on these topics plus the previously approved microconferences (Android, Containers, Graphics/Display, and Secure Boot) are available on the Wiki, along with a list of the currently pending proposals. We will continue approving microconferences over the next few months, so get your proposal in now.

We are also still accepting traditional paper proposals for the Refereed Track that will be shared with LinuxCon. Refereed track proposals are due by June 17, 2013. For details, see the Refereed Track section of the Participate page at: http://www.linuxplumbersconf.org/2013/participate/#cfrt.

As previously announced, we have extended the early registration date for LPC to May 12. View rates and register now using our Attend page.

Early Registration Deadline Extended To May 12

We have extended the early registration deadline for LPC to May 12 so that we can approve and announce a few more microconferences before the deadline. All other deadlines for paper submissions and normal registration dates have not changed. Please see the Attend page for registration details and dates, and the Participate page for information on submitting proposals.

Early Microconference Approvals

The LPC committee has begun to issue early microconference approvals for this year’s conference. So far, we’ve signed up Android, Containers, Graphics/Display, and Secure Boot microconferences. For details about these microconferences (and the list of pending proposals), please see the LPC 2013 Wiki.

We are still accepting proposals, so if you have an idea for a Microconference, please see the instructions on our Participate page at http://www.linuxplumbersconf.org/2013/participate/ to submit a proposal. While there is no official deadline for Microconference proposals (in order to facilitate the last-minute addition of hot topics), we would like to have the majority of the conference content in place by the June/July timeframe in order to allow participants to make advance travel plans.

We will continue to approve microconferences over the next few months as proposals are entered into the Wiki and reviewed by the committee. Please contact the planning committee at contact@lists.linuxplumbersconf.org if you have questions about submitting a microconference.

Early Registration Ends April 29

The last day to register for LPC at the early bird rate of $350 is Monday, April 29. Starting on April 30, registration cost will increase to $400. Go to the Attend page for more details or to register now.

Reminder: Refereed Track Submissions Due June 17

We are still accepting paper proposals for the Refereed Track for Linux Plumbers Conference 2013. Refereed track talks are traditional presentations, and this year these talks will be available to attendees at both Linux Plumbers *and* LinuxCon, which overlap by one day in New Orleans in September. Submissions are due by June 17. Please see the Refereed Track Proposals section of the Participate page for details on how to submit a paper.

We are also still accepting Microconference topics and expect to begin early approvals for microconfs within the next week or so. If you have an idea and you haven’t yet put it on the wiki, please do so soon. The wiki can be found here.

LPC 2013 Call for Participation

We are pleased to announce the Call for Participation for Linux Plumbers Conference 2013, which will be held September 18-20, 2013, in New Orleans, Louisiana. There are two ways for individuals to participate in the conference: by submitting a refereed track presentation, or proposing/running a microconference. Refereed track presentations are traditional presentation-format sessions. A Microconference is a collection of collaborative sessions focused on a particular area of the kernel plumbing. Note that this year, refereed track presentations will be shared with LinuxCon North America on a single overlapping day that will be available to attendees at both conferences.
