One Line Summary

Using the Clang Integrated Assembler to build the Linux Kernel on x86/ARM.

Abstract

The Clang Integrated Assembler (IA) is a powerful part of the Clang toolchain. Utilization of IA to build the Linux Kernel would allow us to leverage it’s diagnostics, speed and integration with Clang.

The presentation will briefly introduce IA and explain the difficulties currently faced when using IA with the Linux Kernel on ARM and x86.

After the presentation, we will discuss the possible solutions to the problems blocking the use of IA.
