The Linux Foundation

Biography

Embedded systems, that is using computers and software to monitor and control stuff, has always been my favorite thing to do. Since I graduated from the Technical University in Munich as an Electrical Engineer (but my master’s theses was on software: deadline scheduling in fault-tolerant real-time systems) I have worked in various industries developing embedded systems for in-vehicle systems, industrial image processing and digital television.

I am currently a staff member of the Linux Foundation and responsible for the Foundation’s embedded activities. I am the Linux Foundation’s representative on the Yocto Project Advisory Board. I am also an embedded Linux and Yocto Project instructor at the Linux Foundation. I have created our Automotive Linux Workgroup to drive the adoption of Linux and open source in the automotive industry forward.

Other than that I love to ski, hike and climb mountains, and hang out with my family and kids. I used to ride motorcycles for fun but the family took precedence.
