Abstract

As the Linux community continues to redefine the boundaries for what is possible in a cloud-based Linux distribution running on Intel silicon, quality assurance plays an increasingly important role for the industry. In the Clear Linux Project for Intel Architecture we have prioritised QA since the beginning of the project. From the methodology we use to track the test coverage to a full description of our test strategy. In this presentation we will show how we assure the deployment of a Linux based operating system with more than 60% of test coverage two times per day. We will discuss the benefits of applying our methodology to other Linux based projects, the challenges we face and the benefits for the Linux community. Improving quality of products, shorting the product development time and reducing costs.

  Biography

  Guillermo Ponce is a Software Engineer that has been working on the IT Industry since 2008 on jobs as developer and system administrator, always under Linux/Unix Environments.
  Most of his experience has been oriented to task automation using scripting.

  Victor Rodriguez

  Biography

  Victor was maintainer and developer of the board OMAP138 “Hawk board” on the Linux project. At Intel he is part of the Open Source Technology Center as OS developer. He is in charge of the Power and Performance team of the Clear Linux* Project for Intel® Architecture OS . He also has experience as SW validation and tools development engineer in HPC and binary translation teams. In his free time is volunteer with Intel Education and regularly gives technical presentations to universities and tech congress in order to increase the level of Linux/Embedded knowledge.
