One Line Summary

The trials and tribulations of being the maintainer of an obscure subsystem, why he feels he‘s a two-bit maintainer and what we, as a community, can do about that.

Abstract

Being a maintainer of a small and obscure kernel subsystem is not necessarily an easy task. Many maintainers are in the same situation and they all face common issues. Martyn will discuss how he ended up as a maintainer of the VME subsystem, what the VME subsystem is, the trials and tribulations of being the maintainer of an obscure subsystem and why he feels he‘s a two-bit maintainer. He will discuss the help and support he receives, the things that have helped him, as well as what he‘s been doing to try and improve (and not be a two-bit maintainer anymore). He also wants to hear what other maintainers in the audience have to share and discuss solutions with the audience.
